Last week I decided to go and check out the revised dog park in our area. It was a sunny day but still very chilly about 45 degrees out burrr. But of course Samson was not even phased by the chilly light wind. The last time we went to the dog park Samson did not have a good experience, all the dogs were in one place. There was no separate place for small dogs or senior dogs so the larger dogs of course scared him a little. We were doing ok until one of the larger dogs came up and wanted to play. He was a bit rougher in playing and samson started to run that was it- the larger dog went into chase mode and took a big chunk out of my little dog's beautiful tail. Samson let out the biggest yelp I have ever heard I called him he was so panicked that he couldnt even focus on me. I ran I fast a I could and called him he finally saw me and practicly jumped into my arms. I felt so bad for him he was shaking and whimpering. I dont think the larger young dog meant any harm to Samson I just think he played a little rougher then sam was used to. Thankfully this last time we went they have added several more fenced spaces and one is for senior dogs, small dogs and shy ones. He seemed to be ok with the smaller dogs. I wished I had brought my camera he was running around and had the biggest puppy smile.
